Widia Manchester PL style cutoff inserts are designed for inexpensive cutoff operations.  They are used  to replace empire blade style cutoff.  This inserts is a Pressure Locked system where the blade holds the insert in place without external clamping.  This allows for varying depts of cut depending on the extension of the blade from the toolholder.  This insert has a good general purpose chipbreaker and is available from a sharp corner to .010" corner radius for medium to slow sfm conditions on most materials.
